Week 6: New York

Monday night football, an AFC East rivalry, and a very important game within the division. Winner takes first place in the current standings.

The Jets (2-3) host the Buffalo Bills (3-2)

Running back James Cook & Defensive Tackle, Ed Oliver, are two key players for Buffalo who were ruled out this week due to lingering injuries. Rookie running back Ray Davis from Kentucky gets the nod to start in the backfield this week. Ray Davis was a major contributor in this game for Buffalo. 23 total touches for 152 yards. Josh Allen looked back in his natural form, putting up 3 touchdowns in the first half. The Bills did however have there first half lead cut down when New York converted a 52 yard hail marry. Then followed with a quiet second half from both teams. Jets and Bills both held out of the end zone in the second half.

Jets kicker missing two field goals costing crucial points for his team. The game ended 23-20 in Buffalos favour, snapping their two game losing streak and taking a two game lead in the division.

Some key players this game being Taylor Rapp, Saftey. A fearless Rapp had some monster hits and forced three pass breakups, one being in the end zone preventing a touchdown on Jets receiver, Garrett Wilson.

Nickel, Taron Johnson coming off of a forearm injury, sealed the game late in the fourth quarter with an interception.

Josh Allen bounced back completing 19/25, of his passed for 215 yards. A much better passing percentage than last weeks game in Houston.

Overall the team looked much more confident and in sync this week. Even though the game was paraded with 30 penalty flags. Buffalo was resilient and found a way to win against a tough Jets team, hungry to get a win at home and take the lead in the division.

Tuesday, October 15th. The day after the game, Buffalo pulled the trigger and traded for pro bowl receiver Amari Cooper, from the Cleveland Browns. I asked Bills fan page on how they think Amari Cooper will fi with Josh Allen, replying “I absolutely love it, huge move. Going to be great.” (billslegacy)

We’ll see how well Cooper can perform being traded in the middle of the season, when he suits up for his first game as a Bill at home this Sunday. Against the Tennessee Titans.
