Houston (3-1) hosts Buffalo (3-1) after a near victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. Buffalo looking to bounce back from a dreadful Sunday night loss in Baltimore. A lot of attention surrounding Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs leading up to game day. Stefon Diggs was a superstar for Buffalo the previous 4 years, and was traded in the offseason to Houston. Both teams are looking to make a statement on who’s the bigger threat in the AFC this week.
Buffalo struggling yet again to start the game. Back to back weeks with no touchdowns in the first half. Josh Allen completing only 33% of his passes for a total of 56 yards. Very disappointing from what was an explosive offence just a couple weeks ago. Houston came out strong with explosive plays themselves. Notably from wide receiver Nico Collins punching in a 67 yard touchdown, late in the first quarter. Once again the Bills offence starting off flat this week and looked confused on how to drive down the field.
The game started to lean towards Buffalo in the second half. James Cook running one in for five yards, and rookie Keon Coleman with an impressive 49 yard touchdown. Only down by a field goal things started to open up for Buffalo. The defence forced two turnovers on Texans quarterback CJ Stroud, a fumble and an interception. But Buffalo couldn’t convert off their turnover chances.
With a controversial ending to the game, the Bills throwing 3 incompletions, only taking 16 seconds of time off the clock, and didn’t force Houston to use any of their timeouts. Houston getting the ball back, still with roughly 30 seconds. CJ Stroud put his team in field goal range, and Texans kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn converted a 59 yard field goal to win the game.
Another rough game for Josh Allen going 9/30, 131 yards, 1 passing touchdown. Stefon Diggs didn’t find the end zone against his former team put still had himself a game with 6 catches for 82 yards. Buffalo continues their road trip to New York next week, hoping to snap their 2 game losing streak.
